Help Graveface Records & Curiosities

Donation protected
As most of you know, my husband Ryan is the owner of Graveface, Terror Vision, Graveface Records & Curiosities and the Graveface Museum here in Savannah. Ryan opened the record shop in the Starland District in 2011, and we just opened the museum this past February. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve had to close the doors indefinitely to both businesses, which is heartbreaking but also devastating to the small businesses we run.

I decided to create a GoFundMe to help Ryan pay rent during the mandatory closure of the record store, museum, and record label warehouse/screen printing shop where we print our apparel. All that rent collectively is $7,800 per month (insane...we know). On top of that, our various landlords (some of the most wealthy people in the city who own their buildings outright) didn’t just refuse any type of rent abatement, but one is actually increasing the rent. I’ve seen many acts of kindness during this pandemic that make me hopeful that everyone is doing their best to look out for one another, but then we get hit with a rent increase and the unforgiving attitude of some people we, unfortunately, have to deal with. Hardships certainly bring to light either the best or worst in people.

The goal of this GoFundMe is 2 months’ rent during the mandatory closure. There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future even once we’re able to open again so any extra proceeds will continue to help us keep the doors open and keep our tiny staff employed while we are getting out of the financial rut COVID has created. Like many others, we weren’t prepared for something like this to hit us so suddenly. We don’t have any emergency savings as Ryan puts 100% of every penny made back into the businesses and that’s how we stay afloat month to month.

Ryan filed for government-funded small business relief but was told "not to hold his breath", which was our last hope of generating any income to sustain the existence of Graveface in Savannah. I can’t express how grateful we are for anything donated, every cent helps.

I realize everyone is in a tough spot right now so if you’re unable to donate money, here are some other ways to support (or feel free to just send your love & share this).
