Help Grant Rodgers with Prostate Cancer Treatments

Donation protected
54 Year Old Father of two grown children Grant Rodgers has been diagnosed with aggressive and advanced Prostate Cancer recently.  His oncologists have advised because of his age that he begin radiation/chemotherapy and if necessary surgery, however surgery has major complications therefore he's decided to try radiation first.  To date Grant has been to numerous Dr's appointments including ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI's etc in Kelowna and Kamloops, this has already caused great financial strain on him as several trips out of town add up.  Grant has been on Disability Pension for quite a few years now and last year went for neck surgery due to collapsed discs which he is still recovering from.   As well as two back surgeries a few years ago.  He will need funds to continue with his cancer treatments as constant trips out of town will be costly, as well as trips to Vancouver for appointments and to follow a healthy nutrition plan.

Cancer is not new to Grant.  In 1982 he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and was flown by air ambulance to Vancouver Children's Hospital and spent 3 months of intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments and chemo for 4 years through his high school years.  He was 15 years old at the time and the prognosis for children was not good at the time, however he survived 3 years of intensive treatments.  Sadly all of the children in the hospital with cancer at the time passed away except Grant.

A Vancouver oncologist named Dr Karen Goddard, who is doing a study to check on the health of former child cancer patients contacted Grant recently and started examining his health now, which involved several intensive tests and invasive procedures, it was because of her that his Prostate Cancer was discovered and 4 other masses on his chest wall, kidneys and liver. He continues to be a patient and participant in Dr Goddard's study to help other children diagnosed with cancer.  Grant has always made a point of talking to and uplifting other people diagnosed with cancer and spreads a positive attitude to help keep them fighting this disease and has a very hard time asking for help.  Any help you can give to Grant in his time of need is greatly appreciated by Grant and his loved ones.  Thank you for your support!
