Help the Norris Lake Family Rebuild After a Devastating Shooting
Our Norris Lake neighbors, Grant and Hannah, and their two children, Lukas and Oaklee, are facing an unimaginable situation after their home and belongings were severely damaged during a shooting in their neighborhood early Thursday morning.
Grant had just left for work when a neighbor across the street began firing multiple firearms toward homes in the neighborhood. More than 50+++ rounds were fired, striking several homes and vehicles, including Grant and Hannah’s home, Grant’s work truck, and the camper van that was awarded to their special needs son, Lukas, through Make-A-Wish.
While on the phone with dispatchers and waiting for SWAT to arrive, Hannah instinctively moved the children away from the front of the house and into the living room while water began pouring through the ceiling after bullets damaged the home’s water lines.
Thankfully, the family made it through this terrifying event physically unharmed. But the damage to their home and belongings has been devastating.
Water damage has ruined the children’s clothing, toys, stuffed animals, bedding, furniture, pillows, and rugs, along with clothing belonging to Grant and Hannah. A major loss is Lukas’ safety bed that was damaged from the water. Their home is now facing the possibility of extensive water damage and mold, and they are working quickly to begin the cleanup and prevent further damage.
Grant’s truck, which he relies on for work, was also riddled with bullet holes, leaving the family facing another major expense at a time when they are already dealing with the loss and damage to their home and personal belongings.
We are asking our Norris Lake community, friends, family, and anyone who feels called to help to come together for Grant, Hannah, Lukas, and Oaklee.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help this family replace necessities, address the damage to their home, repair Grant’s work truck, and begin putting their lives back together after an event no family should ever have to experience.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as meaningful and greatly appreciated.
Thank you for standing beside this family and helping them feel supported during an incredibly frightening and difficult time. ❤️
