Watching a little one face cancer changes you forever. When our sister’s grandson was just three, we saw how small comforts make a big difference. That’s why we — a group of grandmothers and great-aunts known as GrandTees — sew cheerful, zippered shirts that make treatment days easier for kids fighting cancer. Each shirt is handmade with love and provided completely free of charge to families across the country.

During cancer treatment, children often have to remove their shirts so doctors can access their ports. It’s a small moment, but one that adds to the stress of an already frightening experience. Our custom shirts have a zipper that allows easy access without undressing — helping kids feel more comfortable, covered, and confident. Many feature fun, colorful prints or favorite characters to brighten even the hardest days.

Since starting in 2022, we’ve provided over 2,200 shirts to more than 850 children — all free of charge. Every shirt is handmade and shipped with love, at no cost to families. So far, postage alone has cost more than $4,000.

We’re determined to keep going, but we need your help to continue sewing hope for these little warriors.
