Aloha, my name is Anya Yushchenko, and I was born and raised in Kharkiv, Ukraine. My parents still lived there when the bombing started on February 26th, 2022. My mom spent a week at the bomb shelter, and my dad joined territorial defense troops to protect his country. Kharkiv has been under continuous attack for three weeks, and many buildings are being destroyed. After much hesitation, my mom decided to leave her home and travel abroad. Unfortunately, my dad's health deteriorated during the war, and he was retired from his military service and was also able to travel west to safety.
I have started this fundraiser to help my parents with basic necessities, like food, clothing, medication, visa applications and travel.
Some of the funds will go to support my grandma, 84 and WW2 survivor who is still in Eastern Ukraine and not able to get her old age pension because war displaced her from her home.

Mahalo for your loving help and support!
