We are in our late sixties and raising our children’s 3 children, our grandchildren since they were infants now ages 16, 12 and 9. We want to take them on a summer vacation and summer is already here! We’ve tried to save up for a family vacation (they have only taken one) yet the economy has been very rough on us. The vacation they want is to go to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

The last few years have been extremely difficult for the two youngest as they lost their Dad (our 37yr old son) in 2021. Their mother is not in their lives and losing a Father is a tragedy for any child. We are fortunate to be able to raise them and now that our son is gone our responsibilities as their grandparents and guardians have grown even more now as we try to fill his shoes too.

Our oldest grandson was faced with extreme challenges and difficulties with his education and school. We are still seeking resolution and a new school that will accommodate his needs this Fall. It has been very difficult for him and our entire family as he went through this transition these past couple years.

The children are very loving and resilient and together we have been through a lot. They deserve to be able to take a vacation before school starts up again. They really want to go to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and we are thinking of going for a week. The prices to enter the park have increased and everything has gone up especially for a family of 5 to travel. The children now have 3 cats and a dog that need to be boarded while we are away, and the prices for boarding is very expensive. We have cut expenses everywhere trying to make ends meet. Their grandfather will be 70 years old this month and he is proud to say he is still working to support his grandchildren.
