Grandmaster Jang Hee Pak started training martial arts in South Korea at the very young age of 10. Taekwondo quickly became a life-long passion for Grandmaster Pak and fueled his hopes and dreams.
At 20 years old, he moved to Hawaii and became a martial arts instructor.
Later, he opened a dojo in Rochester, NY, Houston, TX and Austin, TX, driven by an unquenchable desire to teach and transmit his love for martial arts. His priority has always been to ensure he can spend time with each of his students to help them improve their technique and develop the virtue of martial arts rather than having as many students as possible.
That passion is still alive and burning in him almost sixty years later. Today, at 70+ years old, Grandmaster Pak holds an 8th Degree black belt in Taekwondo and still works hard daily to improve his techniques. He is on the USA Taekwondo Poomsae Team and regularly competes (and wins) his division!
His current goal is to attend and win the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in 2024. The first step to achieving that goal is competing in local, regional and national tournaments to qualify for the world competition.
There are two remaining tournaments he would like to attend:
- 2022 U.S. GRAND PRIX FINAL in Concord, NC, on September 16 - 18
- 2022 U.S. GRAND SLAM POOMSAE in Colorado Springs, CO, on November 4 - 6
Grandmaster Pak has dedicated his life to teaching his students the virtues of martial arts and helping them reach their goals. We, his students, want to help Grandmaster Pak reach his goal of winning the Gold at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships.
This Go Fund Me is to raise $3000 to help with the expenses (registration, flight ticket, and accommodations) for the two tournaments listed above.
We thank you so much for supporting Grandmaster Pak with us!
