Help a Grandmother and Her Grandson Fight Leukemia and Keep Their Home

My aunt Liz is more than a grandmother — she is a mother, protector, and sole guardian to her beloved grandson Jeremy. She has stepped up to give him a safe, stable, and loving home, dedicating her life to raising him and ensuring he has every opportunity to thrive. Jeremy is a happy, optimistic 11-year-old who loves school, his family, and especially his cat, but his family means everything to him.

On April 1st, 2024, their world was turned upside down when her grandson, Jeremy, was diagnosed with Sub B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since that moment, their lives have revolved around hospital visits, treatments, medications, and long, exhausting days filled with fear and hope in equal measure.

Since then, he has been treated at Golisano Children's Hospital
and bravely fighting through life saving chemotherapy treatments, including daily medications at home and weekly hospital visits. He has had a port since the beginning of treatment and has handled every step with incredible strength and positivity that inspires everyone around him.

If all goes as planned, Jeremy will complete treatment this July 2026— and he’ll finally get to ring the bell.

While his medical bills are covered, the everyday expenses of life haven’t stopped. Between the mortgage, utilities, insurance, and frequent travel to and from the hospital, the financial strain has become overwhelming for Liz. Because of the time required to care for her grandson and attend medical appointments, maintaining consistent income has been a challenge.

Right now, they are in very real danger of losing their home. They are in dire jeopardy of falling behind on payments and could lose the roof over their heads during the final months of Jeremy’s treatment, the very place where her grandson feels safest during the most frightening time of his young life. No child fighting cancer should have to worry about where they will sleep, and no caregiver should have to choose between medical care and keeping a roof over their head.

We are hoping to raise $20,000 and asking for help so my aunt can focus on what matters most: caring for her grandson and supporting him through his fight against leukemia. Funds raised will go directly toward:

• Mortgage payments to prevent foreclosure ($2,700/month)
• Utilities and basic living expenses
• Transportation and other necessities related to his care

This need is urgent and time-sensitive. Any contribution, big or small, will make an immediate difference and help keep Jeremy safe, stable, and supported as he finishes this fight.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping them in your prayers means more than you know.

Thank you for taking the time to read their story, for your kindness, and for helping this grandmother and grandson hold onto hope during the hardest fight of their lives.
