UPDATE: Carolyn was just given $1000 from an amazing friend.   The total amount was lowered. 
    Heather Alber, beautiful, kind, and caring mother of three, lost her battle with cancer at the end of May of this year.   Her parents, Carolyn and Tom, have been helping care for her kids for a few years now.   After Heather died, Carolyn started going through the motions of what to do, including getting middle child Jonathon's, therapies set up.   Jonathon is 12 years old with Fragile X Syndrome.  He needs speech therapy and diapers.   Carolyn quickly realized that she did not have custody, as there was no will.  The two fathers have not had any contact with the kids in almost 10 years and have never paid child support.   Carolyn went to a lawyer to apply for custody and was greeted with the news that the fee would be $4000, a cost that is very difficult for two retirees who just paid for their daughter's cremation.   Kylie, the youngest child, is my daughter's best friend.   We would be devastated if Kylie couldn't stay with the only other family she has ever known.   Please, if you can, help donate to cover the legal fees for Carolyn and Tom to file for custody of their three beloved grandkids.   Carolyn is one of the kindest women I have ever met.   She cares for the three grandkids, plus her own two adult sons who also have Fragile X.   Her house is clean and her kids are always fed.   They want for nothing but their beloved Mother....and the ability to stay with their Grandparents.  Thank you so very much with anything you can spare.
