Unfortunately, we received news from my grandma's homeowner's insurance that they will no longer renew her policy that her roof has to be redone, and it's in no condition to be repaired. She has been with this company for fifty years. From the estimate from the roofer is sixteen thousand five hundred low cost.There's a portion of my grandma's roof that's actually mushy and full of dry rot. I am looking into all resources.And currently have calls out, but have not received any calls back.Also have looked into personal loans.But unfortunately the cap for her personal loan is ten thousand dollars.Looked into credit cards, but the interest rate in payments are just outrageous. I am trying to take care of everything behind the scenes for my grandma.Because it has really stressed her out and made her sick over this.And if she were to have to leave her home, she probably would not survive.Because this is where she's been since nineteen eighty nine.And unfortunately, we can't take out a heloc loan, because her home is in a reversed mortgage. I've already contacted the reverse mortgage company and they told me there's nothing they can do to help but reminding us that she must maintain homeowner's insurance in order to have her home. My grandma will be 91 in January and she has done so much for everyone, the community and served as a life long member to the VFW. I just hope that maybe we can get some of the funds to help make this a little easier for her.. if unable to donate, I completely understand but if you can please share this.
