Help Grandma Flossie rebuild her home after fire

I am setting up this fundraiser for my 93-year-old Grandmother Flossie Garret and my 73-year-old Mother Shirley Hancock, who had their 3 story home which was  my brothers and I childhood home destroyed along with cherished belongings late night April 21st in a fast burning electrical fire. While we are very grateful that no one was injured, we are heartbroken to learn that my grandmothers first home, which she has lived in over 50 years, along with the contents of everything inside, including furniture, clothing, and a whole lifetime of memories was damaged from the fire, smoke, and water. Even getting to the store is a challenge for them right now as their vehicle is stuck in the detached garage due to the fire crew having to cut power to the electric garage opener when they arrived to fight the flames to the home.

Now they are faced with the harsh reality of trying to figure out how to salvage their home. Unfortunately, insurance is only willing to cover a small fraction of what it will cost to rebuild their home and is not providing any assistance for housing while they are displaced from their home and they attempt to rebuild it to a livable state. Our family has received an outpouring of love from friends who want to help in some way. Everyone feels so helpless because we know that we can't bring back the things they cherished most however we are reaching out to the community to raise much needed funds for my Grandmother and Mother to help them cover expenses and alleviate some of the stress they are facing as they work to recover from this devastating loss. We hope to help them on the long road they have ahead to rebuilding their life and make sure they know that they don't have to do it alone.
