Help Graham and Brianna recover from vehicle theft

Donation protected
On the morning of January 18th, 2021, my car (a Gray 2000 Camry with body damage the driver side and a Wyoming license plate numbered 6881) was stolen from our driveway in Kansas City, Missouri. Brianna had started the car and and had run back inside to grab something when a man walked up to the car, got in, and drove off. All either myself or Brianna could do was shout after him from the front porch. The car contained many things very important to me: a socket set and jacket from my deceased Grandfather, a hat from Ireland given to me by my dad, and a lot of car maintenance supplies. It also had a set of keys to our house, which leaves the family open to burglary. Brianna had also left her phone in the car which, despite our efforts, we cannot track remotely.

Brianna and I are asking for your help in this time of need, largely because we were already in a tough financial situation. I lost my job back in February of 2020, and have been bouncing state to state looking for work. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, work was hard to find. I eventually had to settle back in with my parents in Kansas City and was fortunate enough to find work with a family friend that would allow me to save enough to pay for my and Brianna's (already very small and cheap) wedding in July. With the loss of the car, it will be difficult to either get Brianna back to her college in Wyoming or get myself back and forth to work during the week. My family is also struggling during this time, and cannot afford to help pay for a new vehicle or for new locks on the house. My parents do have a vehicle that can be repaired, but they were already planning on selling that vehicle to make ends meet and therefore it cannot be relied upon as a permanent solution.

The car was also of great value to myself, both emotionally and financially. It had been given to me by family friends in Wyoming during my college years, and I had poured a lot time, money, and love into it in the last three years. Repairs included a new timing belt, battery, engine mounts, spark plugs, spark plug wires, radiator, and control arms, some of which I had installed myself. With the age of the car, State Farm would not insure the vehicle for anything beyond liability, leaving us no way to recover the financial loss.

We are asking for the above amount to cover: $800 to repair a family car that we have not been able to fix yet which will allow me to get to work temporarily; $300 to change the locks in the house to prevent further theft; and $1900 to help with the purchase of a new vehicle. We need these funds as soon as possible in order to protect our family home as well as provide wheels to get Brianna back to Wyoming this week.  Brianna and I thank for your support and your prayers.
