Betty Rose was helping others at our comfort center when she got the call. She rushed to her apartment not knowing whether Grady survived or not. He was rescued by the volunteer Fire Department of Alvin in serious condition. He was inside the apartment for an hour before being rescued, suffering from smoke inhalation and a large burn wound on his side. He is currently being cared for by the amazing team of DVMs, nurses, and care coordinators at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists. His prognosis is fair but he is improving with oxygen, fluids, pain medications, and a ton of TLC.
We are so relieved Grady was pulled out alive, but sad to report that Betty Rose's apartment was a total loss. She has nothing left.
Betty Rose was Last Wishes' first employee after Dr. Cornelius started the company in 2012. She has helped so many, and now, she really needs help herself.
Please consider donating to her recovery. We really appreciate all the help you can give right now! We will take cash donations through the campaign, but we will also be accepting donations of cash, food, and household items immediately at our center located at 3036 Antoine Dr., Houston, TX 77092. We are open 8 am-6pm M-Sat. Questions about donations can be directed to [email redacted]. Our phone number is [phone redacted].
