Our sweet baby puppy Gracie is very sick with an aggressive strain of canine parvovirus. Her and her siblings caught it at the shelter or foster they were born in. She has been fighting for her life for a week now and is going to turn the corner, we can feel it. Parvo is a nasty canine virus that puppies are especially susceptible to as they can not get fully vaccinated for months. It is highly contagious, can live in the soil up to a year and can be carried by other dogs or even on shoes and clothing. This virus attacks the puppies bones and digestive system, wreaking havoc on their tiny bodies. With aggressive treatment and some luck, they can beat it! The Milo Foundation had been helping to pay Gracie and her siblings hospital costs but they are a nonprofit and can no longer handle the financial loss. My partner and I will do everything we can to save our sweet girl, but treatment is around $2,000 / day so we are looking for any help we can get. Gracie is the sweetest most sensitive and loving puppy you will ever meet. All she wants to do is play and give you kisses. She loves and trust everyone instantly. We had her for four days before she fell ill and in that time we formed a bond and love stronger than I have ever known. Seeing this pure soul suffer is the hardest thing we have ever endured, but we aren’t giving up on her. We know she can fight this and go on to live a long and healthy life. We just need to see her through it!
please donate whatever you can, the smallest amount will help. If anything is raised that is not needed for Gracies medical bills we will donate it directly to the Milo foundation to offset their current loss. If you don’t have the financial means to donate, please send your strong thoughts and prayers to Gracie and her siblings. They deserve the world!
Please also take this opportunity to raise awareness around Parvo and the importance of all dogs getting vaccinated to help protect our sweet puppies. With proper vaccination of dog population areas have seen Parvo cases to be nearly nonexistent. The Bay Area has been rampant with this disease for a long time, and we need to change that!
thank you,
Gracies loving parents Kelly and Joel
Lets get Gracie girl back to the healthy and happy puppy she was before Parvo!
