Help Grace with Pancreatic Cancer Treatment

I am starting this GoFundMe for my sister Grace Laricchia Hoffmann. She was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer three years ago. It is a devastating disease with survival rates of less than 10% in the first year, and even less beyond that.

Since her diagnosis, Grace has been battling this devastating disease through a difficult surgery, 3 rounds of chemo, along with other alternative treatments and supplements. Although the surgery removed the tumour from the pancreas, the cancer cells metastasized into her lungs and currently there are 50+ cancerous nodules/lesions in her lungs. Further treatments in Canada are limited (chemotherapy) and there is no certainty for cures.

According to her oncologist, the cancer is not aggressive, it is slow growing. He also said this is a rarity in pancreatic cancer patients and nothing short of miraculous. With this encouraging news and with very high hopes to continue this miracle, we researched and found medical locations outside of Canada that offer forward thinking, more aggressive immunotherapy treatments with high success rates. They offer her more years to live.

Grace is married to George Hoffmann, and together they have 3 wonderful children who are fine young men (Anthony 19, Andrew 22, and Alexander 24 years old). Grace desperately wants to see them become independent adults. Her husband wants more time with his wife. Their children want more time with their mama.

As for myself, Grace not only is my sister she is my best friend, my rock and I love her deeply. I cannot imagine my life without her. Researching these clinics, and speaking with their doctors has given us hope for more years.

Our siblings Joe and Vito, have been forever supportive and pray for her to live longer so we can grow old together. Our family in Canada, United States and Italy are always calling to provide support and prayers. This has been invaluable for her state of mind and to maintain a positive attitude, which as you can imagine is very difficult to do when fighting cancer.

Her beautiful, wonderful and blessed friends have given her courage and the will to be strong and continue fighting.

Unfortunately George has been on disability leave from work. Together with Grace also having to go on disability leave from work has caused much financial strain for the family. I ask for donations to help ease the financial burden to pay for Grace’s treatments outside of Canada.

While financial contributions are essential, I understand that not everyone may be able to donate.
