My car was stolen recently, but recovered. It is a babied-along Honda with only 130,000 miles on the engine, so there is simply no way to replace it. So I have to repair it. The insurance company will pay for the catalytic converter but doesn't run to all the other damage to restore it to the day before stolen.
The thieves even took the damn ashtray! Good lord. And four blank canvases. And the flashlight. And the jack. And on and on.
So I need to restore it so I can drive again. I am disabled and desperately need the car for health appointments, grocery shopping, taking Foxy to the vet and so on and on. Without it, I'm sinking into the mud!
I need your help with this. Living on Social Security and the kindness of others, I am unable to accumulate the money to repair all the damage to the car, and would be so grateful for any amount you could contribute to putting me back on the road.
Just a note: The Oakland Police don't do forensics on car theft, so even though they recovered it, I had no help there. So I grabbed a garbage bag, cleaned out the crap they left, such as 14 beer cans and 20 candy wrappers. Then I found two business cards and a phone number on a post-it. The police pick up the phone numbers and caught the bastards the very next day, and closed down two chop shops. About that I'm very pleased with myself. But for all the money we will spend keeping them in Folsom Prison, I could buy quite a lovely new car. And a house.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any amount however large or small you could pass on to help us get functional again! xo, glh
