Grace recently lost her home in the devastating flooding in Waialua, Hawaii. She is now navigating the overwhelming aftermath: displacement, the loss of personal belongings, and the emotional toll of starting over, all while caring for her young daughter, who is now also in need of basic essentials like school supplies.
After spending hours salvaging what she could and doing hard manual labor, clearing out muddy debris, ruined furniture, bedding, food, and electronics, Grace brought tears and beautiful perspective to everyone around her. In the middle of such devastation, she invited the volunteers helping her to take a moment and swing on the tire swing in her backyard, which is now a river of mud, debris, and totaled vehicles, finding joy in a moment of despair. Despite losing so much, she continues to carry a positive outlook and a giving heart. In true Hawaii spirit, she was already talking about hosting a BBQ to thank everyone who showed up for her, thinking about how she could give back, even now.
Grace is one of the kindest, most resilient people, and right now she needs support from her community more than ever. Funds raised will go directly toward immediate needs like temporary housing, clothing, food, comfort for her daughter, and eventually rebuilding what was lost. If you’re able to donate, any amount truly helps. And if you can’t, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world. Thank you for showing up for Grace during this incredibly difficult time. Mahalo.
My name is Micah Warner originally from Austin, TX, and I met grace on March 23, 2026 volunteering with my coworkers who also live on the North Shore. We are in contact with Grace and look forward to providing her with this financial support.
