Hello my name is Grace hockenberry I am an 18 year old senior in high school and have recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, (which means my thyroid AKA that thing which controls my hormones, does not work properly). I was diagnosed late October 2025 but have also been diagnosed with hyper depression and anxiety disorder mid November of 2021. Along with my diagnosis of hypothyroidism, hyper depression and anxiety disorder I’ve also been diagnosed with PTSD. All of these disorders have made it extremely hard for me to live my life happily and care free as a young girl in a high school should be living.

Over the past four years I have been experimenting with medications working with my disorders but unfortunately very few to none have worked properly. As a result to them not working it has worsened my conditions, increasing panic attacks, depressive episodes, fainting, and being unable to take care of myself. One thing that my psychologist, therapist and I have found that works extremely well for me is how a service dogs would benefit me and make my life easier and make it convenient to do “normal” things easier.

Service dogs are expensive! If you are unaware the cost of services dogs can range from $20,000 to $60,000 dollars, and most do not have that money to spend on a psychiatric services dog which is why I have started my go fund me. I have started looking for donations and am trying to raise at-least 15,000$ by July 2nd 2026. That cost includes training fees, a fenced yard, pet insurance, and additional needs.
