Help Grace Find A New Home After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Grace and am 66 years old. In early 2024, I moved in with my cousin Roz in her childhood home in Altadena. What started as just family living together quickly turned into something so much more—we became best friends, sisters at heart, and each other's support system. I paid rent, helped around the house, and eventually became her caregiver, making sure she had everything she needed.
Roz introduced me to a whole new love—her dog, Gigi. I never thought of myself as an animal person, but Gigi changed that. Every day in that home was filled with laughter, shared meals, and long talks. I didn't just move into a house; I found home, love, and purpose.
But in an instant, everything was taken away.
The Eaton Fire burned Roz's home to the ground, and with it, we lost everything we had. The place that held her father's beloved garden, our shared memories, and our safe space—it's all gone. Now, Roz, Gigi, and I are living in a shelter, with nowhere else to go.
We don't qualify for FEMA assistance, and we are at risk of having no alternative. We have nothing but each other.
That's why I'm asking for your help.
We need to rebuild our lives—to find permanent housing, some stability, and a fresh start. If you can donate, it would mean the world to us. And if you can't, please share our story. Even the smallest gesture helps more than you know.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us hold on to hope.
With gratitude,
Grace
