My name is Grace. I'm an aspiring barrister from a working-class background.
Becoming a barrister is notoriously expensive, but after 6 years of study at both the University of Edinburgh and the University of Cambridge I'm determined not to be priced out of the profession. I've successfully secured a place at the University of Law to complete the GDL (Graduate Diploma of Law), which is the first step in becoming a barrister, but the course fee is staggeringly high.
I've exhausted scholarship opportunities and my course is not eligible for a Government loan. I've worked to self-fund my studies since the age of 16, but for the first time I'm trying something different and taking the initiative to ask for help in the hope that this last resort makes funding my law conversion achievable ahead of my course start date in September.
I firmly believe that education should be within reach for everyone, irrespective of financial challenges. I want to demonstrate that, with determination and the right support, anyone from any background can overcome barriers and achieve their aspirations. Your generous contributions will not only assist me on my journey but will also help convey the message that goals are achievable, regardless of circumstances.
Thanks for visiting my page. I fully appreciate how financially difficult things currently are for many people, if you'd like to support my journey but don't have the means to donate I'd really appreciate if you could share my page instead :)
