Goten, our beloved cat, has been through a lot in the past week. On Tuesday, June 9th, we noticed he was breathing heavily early in the morning. Worried, we checked his mouth and throat but found nothing unusual. We rushed him to the emergency vet since his regular clinic was closed. After a basic examination and several X-rays, the vet discovered that Goten had liquid in his lungs. He was diagnosed with Aspiration Pneumonia, caused by vomiting and the liquid entering his lungs instead of coming out. The cost for the tests and medications was more than we could afford, which was a huge financial strain for us. We managed to pay for the X-rays and prescriptions by pooling together everything we had.
After starting his medication, Goten's condition worsened the next day. He struggled to breathe, was panicking, and urinated on himself. Thankfully, Tanzania had just been paid, so we took him back to the vet. Goten received injections, oxygen therapy, a food stimulant, and pain medication. That was five days ago. Today, Goten is more coherent, moving around, eating and drinking on his own, and using the litter box with some assistance. His pneumonia seems to be improving, but he still needs a full evaluation, more X-rays, blood work, and possibly more oxygen therapy. Most importantly, Goten requires physical therapy for his front right leg, which remains limp due to nerve damage from lack of oxygen.
We are reaching out for help because we truly thought we were going to lose Goten and don't want to give up on him. The funds raised will cover his full examination, any additional medications, and physical therapy treatments. We can't do this alone and need your support to give Goten the best chance at recovery. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can provide. With gratitude, Jamil, Tanzania, Trunks, and Goten.
