ABOUT GOSPEL GAMES:
Me (Kory) and my wife Nikki are the founders of Gospel Games. We have always had a desire to be involved in ministry and over the years we've explored various avenues such as college, young adults, teens, and children - all while experiencing a commendable level of success in each. As our little one starts to be more involved with the children's ministry at our church, we have started to think more about how to support that ministry. Recently we created a curriculum for a young marrieds class at our church focused on the book of James. Our objective was to convey James' wisdom in a unique way by incorporating it into a board game. Recognizing the value of using games as a tool for imparting biblical truths, we envisioned reaching children through an alternative and enjoyable learning method. Thus, Gospel Games was born.

WHY WE NEED YOU HELP:
By God’s grace we have been blessed with so many skills and abilities, allowing us to design and illustrate the games on our own. Although we plan to do all the work in the beginning the cost to start a board game publishing company is way beyond what we can afford on our own.
-Here is a breakdown of what we will be saving by doing the work:
  • Game design = $900 per game (3 games)
  • Website = $1000
  • Game art = $1200 per game (3 games)
  • Videos = $3000 per game (3 games)
total saved $16,300
-Here is a breakdown of what we will still need:
  • Marketing = $5000
  • Game Production = $10,000 (total for all 3 games)
  • Safety testing = $800 (total for all 3 games)
  • Shipping = $1000 (total for all 3 games)
total needed $16,800
Both of these lists are estimates. There are always unexpected costs making it that much more important to raise the funds necessary.

OUR PLAN:
Each year we plan to publish three games with unique themes and purposes. We have created a level system to help teachers and parents pick the right games for the right kids.
-The levels
  • Bible Buddies - Level 1
Perfect for elementary-age children. These games offer easy gameplay with optional scoring. Great for a quiet, relaxed atmosphere.
  • Gospel Guardians - Level 2
Perfect for older elementary-age children. These games feature engaging gameplay that may include an active element.
  • Wisdom Warriors - Level 3
Perfect for middle school students and beyond. These games offer more strategic gameplay.

If you have ever played a game, then you know reading the rules and learning to play is the worst part of any game. So, we also plan to create exciting videos that teach the kids how to play the game as well as explaining what the game teaches about the Bible. Here is a sample of the first 3 games we plan to publish and what they will teach kids about the Bible.

Gospel Grove - level 1
The fruits of the Spirit are often sung about and even memorized, but the application is rarely talked about. What does it mean to have the fruit of faithfulness or gentleness and how can we use those fruits to impact our community? In Gospel Grove, players will grow spiritual fruit to share with their community - helping kids learn what it means to share different fruits of the Spirit in everyday situations.

Ordered - level 2
We all know God created the heavens and earth, but sometimes that’s as far as we go with kids. God did so much more in those 6 days. He took the chaos of nothingness and organized it into something beautiful. He made the whole universe full of potential and blessed us with the ability to fill it with beautiful things. In Ordered, kids will work together to organize the chaos - teaching them how God created potential (the heavens, waters, and land) and filled it with beauty (stars, birds, and mammals.)

Line of Judah - level 3
Jesus is king over heaven and earth, but his genealogy is full of flawed people. In Line of Judah kids will attempt to build Jesus' genealogy. Players will learn that God can use anyone to build his kingdom. There are facts and small details on each card that can lead kids to seek answers in the Bible - like ‘Why is Rehoboam's boarder broken in two?’ or ‘Why do some kings have red backgrounds and others have blue?

THANK YOU:
No matter how much money we raise we know that God can use what we have for his glory. We feel so blessed for this opportunity and we can't wait for everyone that supports us to see where God can take this crazy idea. Thank you so much for your support. Also, don't forget to check out our website for a little more information about us. Don’t hesitate to ask us questions or give us suggestions.
