Gordy Stewart was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August 2023. In the last year, he has undergone a radical prostatectomy and hormone treatment to stabilize his condition. The next step, which requires a temporary relocation to Rochester, is seven weeks of daily radiation treatments at Mayo. That treatment is scheduled to begin August 5.

His prognosis is good and he is feeling strong heading into this next phase, but has just learned that the Cancer Society patient housing is at full capacity and not available. Just days before the move, he is facing the sudden stress and financial impact of securing and paying for housing for the seven week duration in addition to the daily expenses of being away from home.
