My dog Gordy, who I am currently fostering and planning to adopt soon, recently went through a traumatic experience that has left both of us shaken. One day, someone accidentally left the gate open, and Gordy managed to get out of the house. Tragically, he was hit by a car. We rushed him to the pet emergency hospital, where he received immediate care. The medical bills were hefty, but I knew I had to do everything possible to help him.

Gordy is now home, but unfortunately, he has lost all function in his front left leg due to nerve damage. The veterinarians have told me that if he doesn't regain feeling in the next three weeks, he will need to have his leg amputated. This is a heartbreaking possibility, but I am determined to give him the best chance at recovery. The vet bills are already very expensive, and the costs for ongoing care, possible surgery, and rehabilitation are overwhelming.
