Help Gordo's path to healing

How do I explain this... there is no way but the blunt way, the complete, here it is, laid out way.

Our friend and brother Gordo Hernandez attempted to take his own life. He shot himself in the chest. Thankfully he survived his suicide attempt.

Suicide has taken far to many. It is a tragedy on many different levels with multiple victims created from one act. By the grace of God, Gordo was not added to the list. But he is wounded greatly. He is a victim of depression and despair.

Gordo is doing far better than I expected and even than the doctors expected. He is strong and he realizes the mistake he made but has a strong desire to survive and live. He will have a very long and hard road ahead of him. But I hope it's a more fulfilling and ultimately happier path. That's his battle and his choice but we can help him fight that battle.

#checkonyourfriends is thrown around alot these days and for good reason. But now is a chance to actually check in on and show support for someone who we almost lost but didn't.

I know Gordo to be a humble, kind man. He is quick to smile and to put a smile on everyone he meets face. He has been a huge friend to DE and always steps up to help anyone and everyone. He did not ask for our help but we are certainly going to give it. He is going to have a long battle not just to walk again but a long mental battle to arrive at a better place. Please help us, help him by relieving a little financial pressure.
