If you’ve spent time or live in/around Hawthorne, California, chances are you’ve known or seen Gordon Mego — at City Council meetings, walking the neighborhoods, distributing pamphlets, and sharing city updates. Gordon has been a passionate advocate for our community for years, using his own time, car, and energy to support both residents and city staff.

He’s never asked for anything in return — until now.

Gordon’s beloved 1985 Ford LTD Crown Victoria recently broke down. While he’s retired and living on a fixed income, he hasn’t let that stop him. Gordon continues to walk to get helpful information to neighbors, even without a working vehicle.

This fundraiser is our chance to show appreciation and support. Funds will go toward:

Repairing or replacing his vehicle

Transportation support

Easing some of the stress he's facing during this time
