To Our Generous Friends,
Thank you so much for your kind donations that will help our friend, Gordon Bancroft, rebuild his life after the devastating Camp Fire took his home in Paradise CA, his belongings, and his closest friend and service dog Cassie. We achieved our goal of $10,000!
Gordon and I go way back. We were ‘partners in crime’ back in the NASA days where we built an awesome team and created some great technology. We also had a lot of fun in the process. In fact he and his band “The Buttheads” played at our wedding reception. It warms my heart to know that Gordon has developed a network of friends and friends of friends who have stepped up with their generosity to help him out in his time of need.
Clearly Gordon has a number of challenges ahead, including re-establishing a home, dealing with some health issues, and replacing his beloved dog. The funds we raised will help him get his life back together. This will include covering temporary housing while he finds something permanent, replacing his lost belongings, and most importantly finding a new four-legged best friend.
Since the fire a month ago Gordon has been staying with friends while he picks up the pieces. After the holidays he will return to Northern California to begin the rebuilding process. At that point he will start withdrawing the raised funds to cover the costs.
Once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your generosity!
Sincerely,
Fergus Merritt
