I recently met a dog at the Miami Dade animal shelter named Gordo. Gordo is a loving and sweet dog who came into the shelter in bad shape, with lesions and skin issues all over his body. Most concerning are his severe dental problems—he has holes in his mouth, cracked teeth, and even bit a piece of his tongue off due to numbness. Despite everything, Gordo is described as a calm cuddle bug who loves people, though he isn’t friendly with other dogs.

Gordo’s dental situation is urgent. If an infection were to happen, it could potentially be fatal. Thanks to a generous local vet, we have an opportunity to get his teeth taken care of for a fraction of the usual cost, but we still need help covering anesthesia and surgical expenses. I am personally chipping in and taking him to the vet, but a little help will go a long way.
