Help Gordana in her Fight Against Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

Dear friends and family,

On February 9, 2025, our family received devastating news when our amazing mom, Gordana (Goga) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. After suffering from stomach pain and loss of appetite, and numerous doctor appointments, mom finally went into emergency where a CT scan revealed a substantial tumor and possible spread to the liver.

Her follow-up assessment at Princess Margaret Hospital confirmed this crushing diagnosis. Mom was put on a palliative chemo schedule and given "1 year to live, give or take". If you know Goga, you know she is not one to quit, back down from a challenge, or leave any stone unturned. In other words, mom has always packed a healthy punch of "inat".

Through much research, and the love and support of our family and friends - love and support that often brought us to tears - we found a team of oncologists in Germany who perform a chemo procedure that offers a much better prognosis in the fight against this malicious disease. On March 7, we received good news that she was accepted as a patient, and she is currently undergoing this procedure in Frankfurt.

While hopeful, we know this is only the first treatment needed. We are quickly learning that medical treatments, holistic care and costs that come with fighting this disease are overwhelming, and we want to make sure mom can focus on what matters most - fighting and living life on her terms.
