Help Gord Get Home!

My name is Robert Crone. I met Gord MacAlpine in kindergarten and we were pretty much inseparable all through elementary school. He's been a lifelong friend now for over 60 years and finds himself in a terrible predicament.
As many of you may know, Gord flew from his home in Mexico to the Dominican Republic for a wedding recently. His passport was confiscated at customs in the DR, where they informed him that someone else had been using his information and that there was a second passport in his name.
The embassy will only provide a temporary passport good for travel back to Canada. Due to Covid, this won't work for Gord. But Gord's home is not in Canada these days. It's in Mexico, where his partner, dog, 2 cats and his job are waiting for him.
He is stuck in Punta Cana for the next 2 to 3 weeks waiting for a new passport from Ottawa, having to stay there at great personal cost.
Bills are mounting and after 2 years of almost no sales in the real estate business, Gord could use help from friends, family and acquaintances. Any money raised will go to keeping him housed and fed while this ordeal continues. Any funds left over once he's finally able to leave will be put to good use in a charity of Gord's choosing back in Mexico.
Having known Gord for over 60 years, I have no doubt it will go to a worthy cause.
Thanks for helping a good man and a good friend.
Rob
