After two months of Goose being sick, we finally have answers and I am full of tears.
May 22nd, I made a late night phone call to our Vet. I believed Goose had a blockage in his intestines and needed urgent care. He was vomiting and not eating. They told me to wait and bring him in the next day.
4 days of back and fourth with various tests and no answers. Goose was sent home with meds to help.
July 15th, Goose went back into the vets with the same concerns as he wasn’t eating, was very lethargic and at this point we could tell he lost a considerable amount of weight. We were sent home with more medication and no answers.
July 21st, Goose was taken to Eagleson Vet Clinic in Kanata for emergency care. We needed to wait until the following day for an urgent ultrasound.
Today, July 22nd, we finally have answers. Ultrasound and Xray show Goose has a blockage/obstruction in his intestines that has punctured through. Ontop of this, there are concerns that his liver is smaller than normal along with gallstones.
He has undergone Emergency Surgery this evening and it went well. The foreign objects were removed and we are hoping he starts to recover. Tomorrow, we look at a possibility of Addison’s Disease as well as a shunt.
Goose’s current bill for surgery sits at 12,000. This is ontop of the 3,000 to his previous vet and not including any testing that comes up in the next few days.
There have been many requests for a GoFundMe to help Goose and so we have made this. While we certainly don’t expect anything and know times are tough for all right now- we appreciate and welcome any little bit that is sent our way.
Thanks so much.
❤️
