Hello everyone! This is a fundraiser to help me afford my cat Goomba's mounting medical bills as we try to figure out his months long issue with his digestive track!
BACKSTORY
Goomba started exhibiting symptoms in early July. His stools started coming out, then he started to use the litterbox a lot more frequently than the other cat. As the weeks progressed, he started defecating anywhere in the apartment, unable to hold in his poo until the litter box. I took him to one of the vets and they diagnosed him as having general digestive issues as a result of an overactive immune system. He was prescribed immune-suppressants along with protein processed veterinary dry food to help ease the load on his digestive track.
Immediately Goomba stopped pooing around the unit, but his stools were still soft and the long-term risk of his medication was that it can eventually lead to diabetes so when I moved I took him to another vet to see if they could find a definitive source to his ailment. They did a deep dive checkup and everything came out normal except the tests they ran on his digestive track; The doctor strongly recommended I schedule an appointment for a Sonogram so they can take a closer look. At the time I didn't have the funds so I saved up for three months so I could afford the procedure.
The results came back inconclusive. While his vital organs and digestive track looked normal, they noticed that Goomba has inflammation in the colon and the nodes near his small intestines. They suspect it might be Chron's diesease but due to Goomba's young age, they want to perform a surgery and take various bio samples to see what happens.
CURRENTLY
So far, I have been trying to keep on top of expenses using a combination of credit cards and whatever I can scrounge from my meager savings but I just cannot afford this upcoming cost. I want to get answers and help Goomba feeling like himself again. It hurts seeing him endure months of discomfort that I can't do anything about.
I greatly appreciate any amount of money you can offer my way and I will continue to look for options to afford his care. Thank you!
