Gold Trail Racing is a student-led motorsports organization from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) dedicated to giving students hands-on experience in racing, engineering, teamwork, and the business side of motorsports.
Our team competes through the Collegiate Racing Series (CRS), a national racing series that gives university teams the opportunity to compete against other colleges in Spec Miata racing. Gold Trail Racing has already taken major steps toward this goal, including having licensed competition drivers who are ready to represent UTEP on track.
Our biggest goal now is securing our race car through CRS. To obtain the Spec Miata that will allow our team to compete, we need to raise a minimum of $10,000 for the initial lease agreement. Having our own dedicated race car would allow Gold Trail Racing to move from preparation into consistent competition and continue building a strong motorsports program at UTEP.
A major goal for our team is to have the car secured and ready to compete at Homestead-Miami Speedway on December 19. Reaching this event would be an important milestone for Gold Trail Racing and an opportunity to represent UTEP and El Paso on the national collegiate racing stage.
Every contribution will go directly toward helping us secure the car, prepare for competition, and make our goal of racing at Homestead-Miami possible. This opportunity is about more than racing—it gives students real-world experience in vehicle preparation, engineering, logistics, marketing, sponsorship, and team operations.
We are incredibly grateful for any support toward our $10,000 goal. Every contribution brings Gold Trail Racing one step closer to getting on track, competing through the Collegiate Racing Series, and proudly representing UTEP and El Paso.
