Help My Partner Fight Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

With a heavy heart, I am here today to ask for a helping hand from friends, family or really just any one with a heart for someone in need. My name is Mee Yang, my partner Go Xiong, is currently battling chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 5. We discovered this on on Feb. 26, 2025, when he visited a hospital after a week without the ability to intake any food or water. This discovery blindsided both of us and our kids as we try to adapt and adjust our life around CKD. He is the main financial support for our family of 9, which includes children ranging from 5 to 16 years of age. With his health challenges, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain our home and provide for our family.

Before being diagnosed with CKD stage 5, Go was very outgoing, artistic, enthusiastic, kind loving partner and parent. He is the light of the family and the strength that holds us together. Anyone who knew Go, knows he has a heart of gold. Always, willingly to help anyone; whether you’re just a stranger or someone he just met.

In order for Go to be eligible for a kidney transplant, we need to raise $10,000. This fund will be for the next vital step in our journey toward renewed health, to be listed for a kidney transplant. This kidney transplant is not considered a cure; as there really is no cure for CKD. This kidney transplant is another way to extend his life just a little longer. However, becoming eligible for the transplant, requires significant medical evaluations, tests, travel fees—costs that quickly add up and are often not fully covered by insurance.

We are humbly reaching out to raise $10,000 to help our family cover these essential expenses and move forward on the path to receiving this kidney transplant. Reaching this goal will help us face this new challenge with renewed hope and strength.
