'Ello, my name is Gloria Elaine. Recently I was admitted to the hospital for a blood transfusion due to low hemoglobin. Medical staff usually start transfusions when levels are at 7, mine was 3.9. I'm lucky it was caught in time.

While I was being treated, doctors discovered that I had extensive kidney damage, further worsened by the low hemoglobin. They began to treat that as well, but my levels were not improving.

It was determined I would require dialysis. I had several treatments in the hospital. After 11 days, I was able to be discharged. However, I still require dialysis through an outpatient clinic. Where I am currently.

This was all very unexpected. I went to my PCP that friday morning not expecting them to send me to the ER. Let alone, be hospitalized for almost two weeks. I created this GoFundMe to help cover the medical costs not covered by insurance. I have very little savings, any help you be beyond amazing. It has been difficult processing the diagnosis, my new "normal," and building a new lifestlye. Paying for this emergency is another thing on my to-do list and I would welcome any assistance in this matter.

I've learned the world can be scary, but also kind. I appreciate the kindness so much more than I ever though possible.
