Hi, my name is Zoe. I’m a full time hairstylist just starting out in my career, and I also work part time as a pet sitter. If you know me, you know that my love for animals runs deep, especially for my 3 angel baby kitties.
A few months ago, something really difficult came to light. My 3 year old cat, Glizzy, who is my entire heart, was diagnosed with severe stomatitis.
Stomatitis is defined as a painful inflammatory condition in cats that affects the gums and tissues inside the mouth.
His mouth is so inflamed that even eating causes him pain. He’s lost a significant amount of weight and is unable to groom himself due to the pain. He still tries to snuggle and purr, but I can tell he’s hurting and it breaks me.
After months of vet visits and antibiotics, the only real option left to relieve his suffering is full mouth dental extraction surgery. It’s urgent and needs to happen in the next few weeks. The cost is nearly $3,000, which feels impossible right now. I’m working hard, but as someone just building my career and juggling a side gig to make ends meet, it’s more than I can carry on my own.
I know the world is incredibly heavy right now. Genocides, floods, fires, etc. There are so many devastating, urgent causes that need attention and support. I’ve hesitated to ask for help because I know how lucky I am in so many ways. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, and people who care about me. But watching someone I love suffer and not being able to fix it has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced.
This surgery will help give Glizzy a chance to live without pain. If you feel moved to donate, even a small amount, or simply to share this, it would mean the world to both of us.
Thank you for listening, for caring, and for helping me try to give Glizzy the comfort he so deeply deserves.
With love,
Zoe and Glizzy
