Help Gleny beat cancer!

For my birthday this year, I am organizing this fundraiser for my dear friend, Gleny who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Gleny and I were classmates in 2013. Since then, she served as the "ate" or older sister for many of us who became close to her. She is the mother of two amazing daughters (1 just started college and the other is in high school) and a high school teacher.

During the early days of the pandemic, she was diagnosed with advanced stage of urinary bladder cancer. She had to have her urinary bladder and other organs removed. Because of this illness, her "new normal" involves urinating through a urostomy bag, undergoing excruciating chemotherapy sessions, and relying on her family, especially her daughters, for assistance in activities of daily living.

The chemotherapy is no easy feat. Each session kills not only her cancer cells, but also her other healthy cells which leave her exhausted. In addition, medical bills are piling up.
