Help Glenn Rebuild His Life After Stroke

Donation protected
On November 24th, 2024, everything changed when Glenn suffered a devastating ischemic stroke. After a joyful weekend with his granddaughters, he was driving home when he started to have a seizure. My mom quickly took control of the car as Glenn became unresponsive, pulling off the highway just in time to call 911. Within minutes, first responders arrived and rushed him to Jupiter Medical Center, where he underwent critical surgery to remove a significant blockage on the left side of his brain.

Though the surgery was initially declared a success, the prognosis was daunting. We were warned to prepare for any possibility. For several weeks in the ICU, Glenn fought with incredible strength against severe weakness in his right leg, paralysis in his right arm, difficulty speaking, and challenges with the right side of his face. Witnessing his struggle to sit up, walk, or communicate was heart-wrenching. However, Glenn’s relentless determination has shown through as he slowly but surely began to regain strength; he took his first assisted steps and was eventually transferred to a rehabilitation facility for an additional month.

Today, our hearts are filled with hope, yet Glenn faces a new hurdle. He has been diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that severely impacts his ability to communicate. For a man who thrived on social interaction, this has been an especially difficult adjustment.

We are reaching out for your support as Glenn prepares for the next critical phase of his recovery—an intensive six-week aphasia program at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, which he will attend starting August 25th through October 2nd. They are specifically designed to help him regain his communication skills and rebuild his confidence.

While his prior employer has generously covered the cost of this essential program, the overwhelming medical expenses and the loss of his job since the stroke have left us in need of help to cover vital costs such as hotel accommodations, meals, and daily necessities during this vital rehabilitation journey.

If you know Glenn, you understand that asking for help doesn’t come lightly to him. His greatest wish is to return to work and reconnect with the friends and colleagues who mean so much to him. Your support would not only provide much-needed financial relief but also serve as a beacon of hope and encouragement for Glenn as he continues to fight for his recovery.

Thank you for considering a donation, sharing his story, or simply keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. Together, we can make a significant difference in Glenn’s journey toward recovery.
Thank you,
Brianna Caron
