My name is Glenn, and for the past two years, life has felt like a constant uphill battle. I’ve been underemployed, doing my best to make ends meet, but every time I start to get ahead, something unexpected happens. Most recently, my car broke down on the freeway and it took two weeks to get it fixed. Since my car is my only source of income, this setback hit me especially hard. To make matters worse, Uber recently cut opportunities for drivers like me, making it even harder to earn what I need to get by.

Because of these challenges, I’ve fallen behind on rent and now owe my landlord for past due rent, not including this month’s payment. My car registration is overdue, and I still need to fix my windshield. Without my car, I can’t work, and without work, I can’t catch up on rent or cover basic expenses. It’s been incredibly difficult, and I’m running out of options to make a decent living.
