We are Glenelg High School’s Robotiators Team 888 from Howard County, MD, proudly celebrating 25 years of innovation, teamwork, and STEM excellence. For a quarter of a century, our program has empowered students to design, build, and compete with high‑performance robots while developing leadership, collaboration, communication, and real‑world problem‑solving skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Every season, our students dedicate countless hours to brainstorming ideas, prototyping designs, refining codes, testing mechanisms, and supporting one another. Robotics isn’t just about machines, it’s about creativity, perseverance, and learning how to solve complex challenges as a team.
A SEASON OF INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT
We are thrilled to share that we’ve kicked off the 2026 season ranked #2 in the Chesapeake District and #139 in the world, placing us in the top 3.8% of all FIRST Robotics Competition teams globally. This remarkable accomplishment reflects the dedication, talent, and hard work of our student engineers, programmers, builders, and strategists.
WHAT’S NEXT? WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP?
As our season continues, Robotiators Team 888 has the chance to represent Glenelg High School and our community at the highest levels of international robotics competition, earning the spot to compete at two major events:
- 2026 FIRST Chesapeake District Championship at Virginia State University
- 2026 FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas
As you can imagine, competing at this level is an incredible honor. But it also comes with significant financial costs. Your support helps ensure that every student on our team can participate, regardless of financial circumstances. Donations will directly support:
- Event Registration fees
- Travel expenses, including transportation, lodging, and meals
- Robot parts, tools, and essential team equipment
- Maintenance, repairs, and access to practice field resources
