Helping Glenda Fight Lymphoma

Donation protected
Life can change in the blink of an eye. Literally 2 years from retirement my parents world was flipped upside down and their plans they've worked so hard for were destroyed.  My mom is a very private person and it's hard for her to be vulnerable and let anyone know she's not okay. My mom agreed today that she needs help. She's sick and worried of what her future holds due to her cancer. I had a talk with mom today and told her it's okay to not be okay. And it's okay to humble yourself and ask for help.

Those of you that know Glenda Lawson already know what an unbelievably amazing and selfless woman she is.  She has a heart of gold and never once expects anything in return. She loves her husband of 40 years and her three girls more than life itself. Glenda  has an undying love for God and has always been faithful to him. She gives all the glory to God and she will shout that unapologetically till the day she dies.

Her girls could never phathom the grief and worry we would endure when our mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Large B Cell Lymphoma in November 2018. Nothing in this life could even prepare us to have to watch the trama my mom went through with a surgery that involved removing a tumor the size of the surgeon's fist and a half and was listed as one of the most challenging surgeries this doctor has encountered in his 20 years.

The recovery of all the surgery,  port placement, infections,  tube feedings for 2 months, endless doctors offices to unexpected hospital stays, all before the road of chemo brought us to our knees crying to have this all be over soon for our mom and let the chemo start so we can get this fight over with. Our prayers were answered the middle part of December and we were given the clearance to start the fight and begin chemo.

Mom did AMAZING the first round and we all were so surprised at how well she did. She did become neutrapenic during this time but had energy and felt great.

The second round was given this past week and mom is sick. I can see the changes I so dreaded. She has been zapped of any energy, constant headaches,  bone aches and just the unfortunate effects of this poison that is injected in her every 3 weeks. I can see my mom is struggling and it hurts. I need to do something to help the worry I can see on my parent's faces.

Mom has the most amazing job, but this week her paychecks are ending unless she can return to work. FMLA has almost been depleted.  This fight with cancer will continue for a minimum of the next 3 months, and that's if the chemo is working.

Even the strong can struggle and they'll never ask for help. To provide a peace of mind for my mom is my cry. If you feel led to help my mom during this very rough patch in life, I know she will forever be grateful. Much love to each and everyone of you that has graciously helped my mom through this journey we call life.
