Hello! My name is Glenda Woods im only 34 years old and just diagnosed with an extremely rare Sarcoma - high grade- Brain Cancer. A headache/ ER visit is how we discovered a brain bleed /stroke/mass/that ended up being an craniotomy surgery and everyones worst nightmare. CANCER. Doctors told me today 7/8/2021 that they dont know the strain and will have to further test the DNA of the Sarcoma. Its rare, under 1% to form in the brain, and highly unlikely in my age. Im too young they said. I live in Kentucky & unfortunately Sarcoma is not specialized in any hospital near me, due to this being my life in the balance - I really want second opinions!! I have reached out to Mayo Clinic but first visit alone is 5k, that we have to commit to & thats not including travel, radiation, chemo, so Im asking for help. UK suggested radiation and then chemo be scheduled at the end of July but Im still not okay with their answers. I do have a significant other and we both worked 50+ hours a week before this hit us in June, I don’t have insurance and we are struggling on a day by day. He is my caregiver at the moment so he can’t work either, I'm not allowed to be alone due to the high possibility of seizures, and also not allowed to drive.
