Help Gladys Take a Well-Deserved Break
Meet Gladys — an 86-year-old Ohioan with a heart full of grit and a spirit that doesn’t quit.
Gladys has called Ohio home for over 75 years, and for the past 39 of those years, she’s been a dedicated worker at McDonald's. Through snowstorms, hot summers, and an almost half a hour drive to and from, she’s been there with a warm smile and unmatched work ethic. Even now, at 86, Gladys continues to work 40 hours a week just to make ends meet.
Behind that smile is a woman who’s quietly endured more than most. Gladys has survived two heart attacks, and battles arthritis every single day. Yet she never complains. She shows up, she works hard, and she does it all with grace.
Gladys and her husband David are more than just an inspiring couple — they’re our neighbors, and over the years, they’ve become a true part of our family. Since moving into our building, they’ve shared countless holidays, dinners, and heartfelt evenings with us. We’ve grown close in ways we never expected — even sharing custody of our sweet pup, Pipi, who brings all of us so much joy.
But life has dealt them more than their share of heartbreak.
Just this past November, Gladys and David lost their beloved daughter — the person they planned to retire and live with. They had moved into her home, ready for their golden years, but after her passing, they were forced to move out and start over. It was a devastating loss, emotionally and financially. Yet through it all, Gladys kept going — working full time, carrying the weight of grief, and never once asking for help.
Now it’s time for us to give that help.
We’re raising funds to give Gladys a chance to breathe — to take a break from full-time work, to reduce her hours, spending time with her husband David and to focus on healing, both physically and emotionally. She deserves peace, rest, and the dignity of slowing down without the stress of bills looming over her.
Every dollar donated goes directly to covering their living expenses. If you’ve ever met someone like Gladys — someone who gives everything she has with love, strength, and humility — then you know how deeply she deserves this support.
Let’s show Gladys and David that they’re not alone.
Let’s give back to someone who’s given so much.
Let’s help her rest.
Please donate if you can — and share her story. Every bit helps.
With gratitude,
