Those of you who know me know I rarely ask for help. When I do, there is a dog involved. My rescue hound, Gladys, was attacked by another dog. Initially, it looked like puncture wounds. However, we soon learned she was unable to urinate. Gladys spent several days at the emergency vets. She had to have a catheter, be put on specific medication and antibiotics and be monitored. After several long days, she was finally able to come home. The skin over her puncture wounds has died off, revealing deep wounds on her front and rear legs. One exposed the muscle. This required bandages which were in a place hard to keep on. This means repeated trips to have the bandages replaced. This must continue until it is safe to expose the wounds. I am determined to give Gladys the care she needs so she can heal and find her forever home. The cost of her care has been overwhelming, and we are not finished yet. If you are able, I’d appreciate any help you can offer. Prayers and positive thoughts as well are appreciated. Asking for help has never been easy for me.
