Gladys Peña Morotoli, wife, mother, and grandmother, has been stricken with severe abdominal pain and nausea which caused her to be admitted to a clinic in Maturin, Venezuela for diagnosis. Doctors completed a CT scan and blood tests determining that she had an internal hernia causing an intestinal blockage.
Doctors concerned for Gladys’s health conducted an emergency surgery on the evening of July 7, 2021. Gladys’s medical situation was also complicated by a heart condition which doctors carefully considered. Gladys is now recovering from surgery in the ICU.
The situation in Venezuela is dire as there are shortages of fuel, food, and proper medical care. There is currently no COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan either. Gladys and her dear husband have no income due to the loss of the family business, and they do not have medical insurance.
Gladys is proud and strong; however, she is in need of financial assistance for the medical costs associated with her surgery and recovery. We are reaching out to family, friends, and anyone who cares to provide some financial relief to the Morotoli family in this time of need.
