Help Gladis' Family with Funeral Expenses

Hi guys, I’m creating this GoFundMe to help my in-laws out with the expenses of their 16-year-old daughter’s sudden death. Gladis has been having lung issues for the past 3 years but always got told by doctors that she had very bad asthma. The past 7 months, Gladis has had many hospital visits due to her breathing and surgeries to try to help her. As they did more exams on her, they realized that her left lung was smaller than a shrimp and now her right lung was becoming damaged. They explained to us that Gladis can live with only one lung, but she will be required to use many medications. She was put on a lung transplant list, but they explained that could take some time. Come to find out, her breathing issues weren’t caused by asthma at all. She had an underlying issue that we still don’t know what it may be.

On Wednesday, Gladis had a very bad cough which caused her to start throwing up blood. We called 911, and an ambulance came to get her. She was in the ICU until Thursday. They ended up moving her out of the ICU because she started to show improvement. Later on Thursday night, around 12:30 am, Gladis started to complain about very bad chest pain and couldn’t breathe on her own. They tried to intubate her, but she had too much fluid in her lung that they couldn’t reach the airway properly. Due to that happening, they lost her pulse. Doctors tried everything they could to save her, but her heart wouldn’t start beating again.

I’m Gladis' sister sharing this story with you all because her parents could really use the help. They aren’t the type of people to ask for help, but right now they need the help in whichever way they can receive it. They want to have a funeral here and then send her back to Guatemala, where she is from, so she can rest peacefully beside her family members.
