Hello, I'm Nik (Deadspace- on Reddit), and I'm hoping to raise some money to help pay for a second TPLO surgery for our 4.5-year-old Shiba Inu, Glacier. Back in Nov 2024, Glacier had an accident and tore the cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) in her back right leg. After a ton of research, it looked like TPLO surgery was the best way to get her back to a near-normal lifestyle. Glacier absolutely loves to be a little Tasmanian devil, and we wanted her to continue with a life full of zoomies! We moved forward with surgery, which in the PNW cost us roughly $7000 ($6500 for surgery +$400 for xrays 8 weeks post op). We did have pet insurance, but they only covered $2000. Of course, we were still extremely happy we had something to help lighten the burden.

Unfortunately, 14 weeks post-surgery, and just when things were getting back to normal for her, she tore the CCL in her back left knee. We now need to do another TPLO surgery (scheduled for March 14th) and it's going to cost us another $7000. We no longer have any help from insurance as the $2000 doesn't "re-fill" until July. We're hoping to raise $2500 this time around to ease the load. If you're able to throw a little bit our way, we would be extremely thankful.
