Gizzy came into Edwin and Kirk’s life at a time when they were grieving the loss of their longtime dog, Gizmo. Gizzy was found abandoned in an apartment after his original owner passed away, and when his rescuers were searching for a new home, they knew Edwin and Kirk would be the perfect match. The very first time Gizzy met Kirk, he jumped right into his hands, and from that moment, they became a family. Gizzy has been a ray of sunshine and happiness for Edwin and Kirk, reminding them in so many ways of their beloved Gizmo and bringing comfort and joy back into their lives.

Sadly, Gizzy’s health has taken a heartbreaking turn. He developed issues with his pancreas and, despite being cared for with immense love, he recently became very ill. His veterinarian discovered a bacterial infection that caused irreversible damage to his kidney and liver, along with masses in his liver. After exploring every possible option to help him, the difficult decision was made, with the guidance of his vet, that the most compassionate choice is to let Gizzy go. 

Because of the depleted funds from Gizzy’s recent medical care, they are unable to cover the cost of euthanasia and cremation. Edwin and Kirk are completely devastated, but want nothing more than to give their sweet boy a peaceful goodbye, surrounded by love.
