Hello,
I wanted to share that our pup, Gizmo, has been going through a lot these past few weeks-months. It started off with a diagnosis of bladder stones in August, which required an expensive diet and medication. However, recently, he started to have abnormal behavior, including excessive fatigue, vomiting and little appetite. After taking him to many vet appointments this week, we've been told that he has severe pancreatitis and diabetic keto-acidosis. As with most pet emergencies, in order to get him the care he needs, it will require thousands of dollars and multiple nights at the 24-hour vet hospital. Although he's been sick with other issues for a while, this diagnosis came very suddenly and we are not equipped to pay this amount but want to do as much as we can to get him back to a healthy state, if it's still possible. This isn't typically like us to ask, but anything will help us right now. <3 Thank you.

update: Gizmo is now at the MSU Vet and is being treated in the ICU, where he is getting lots of fluids administered. His vitals are stable currently, but the next 24-72 hours will be critical to see if he’s able to recover. He will be getting lots of labs and diagnostic testing, he is a tough pup. We will have a long road ahead of us, if he’s able to come home, but he’s worth it to us. Thank you for the love and support we’ve received so far. We appreciate the donations & shares. <3

update: The pup has been transferred to Internal Medicine from the ICU, which is hopeful news. He has a long day ahead of him, as his blood sugars are still not controlled, with being in the 400s this morning. Today’s focus will be on getting down to the root cause of his current diabetic crisis and managing his blood sugars and electrolytes. Overall, he’s stable right now and we’re hoping to visit him tomorrow. thank you for the ongoing love, we’re exhausted but so grateful.
