update 8/24/2021  Tiffany passed away quietly in her sleep this morning at 11:06 just 26 minutes after her son Wyatt left. The last thing he said to his mother was “I’m going to be the best person I can be just like you told me & I’m going to be there for Payton just like you want me to. It’s okay momma if you want to go to sleep. You’ve been fighting this for to long and I can’t even imagine being paralyzed and trapped. The toughest part is know you can hear everything I’m saying, but can’t respond back. But I love you so much. I’m gonna be strong momma” I’ll see you soon” and just 26 minutes after he left, the hospital staff did a routinely check up to find she has moved on to heaven.

Update 8/2/2021 doctors have informed us the events that usually take place during the last few hours of someone's life has been happening for the past two days with my fighting momma bear.

Hi everyone, my beloved mother tiffany Akridge needs our help. Tiffany Akridge is a loving mother of my brother and me who mean the world to her.

She loved to travel which made her job as a delta flight attendant very fun for her 18 year career, but over the past 4 years her health has been slowly debilitating at a slow rate. the past year and a half it has degraded tremendously fast.
In mid-May of this year she was finally admitted into northwest hospital in seattle washington after being turned away from multiple hospitals that could not support her needs for a healthy, happy quality of life.
After being admitted into UW northwest, her health started to pick up for about 45 days. Physically therapy started paying off and she was trying so hard to improve her mobility in all her muscles and joints.
On week 8 it was a steady flatline for the next 2 weeks, and just in a blink of a eye, It just started getting physically worse. The swivel in her neck started becoming more stiff and slow. & Tiffany slowly lost all movement in her arms and feet.. it progressed to a sluggish movement almost as if she was always tired and barely could keep her eyes open.
in a matter of 2 weeks. Within those next few days around day 80-85 of being in the hospital, Tiffany final told her youngest son Wyatt she was dying (just like the doctors firmly said without  giving the run around and the ifs or maybes of the situation..
Around week 12 they didn’t have a timeline of how long, but when fawn showed back up at around week 13 they gave a preemptive answer of either a few weeks, or a few months of life left. Once the doctor gave his answer on his hypothesis, her health declined faster then ever.

the end of week 14  she was still eating normal regularl food, but while Wyatt was feeding her, her hamburger, she asked for a sip of her Gatorade (which red fruit pucnch is her best) and started having trouble getting the food down. Her son asked if she was okay at first and she responded in the affirmative, but he visibly could see she was choking, so instead of trying to take on the risky situation by himself, he ran and got the nurses… her room was only 2 rooms away from the nurse desk so she was helped by sprinting doctors coming into her room to relieve the food that got clogged in her throat.

During the end of week 14 was the start of her minced and moist meal, which she didn’t mind. She lives otmeal and cream of wheat but with her oatmeal she is picky. She lives for tons of butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup in her oatmeal.. BUT DINT STIR IT, she will give you themost intense staredown the a Clint East wood showdown scene.

Over the next five days her body really started slowing down. Her chewing become more slow and the nurse, her son Wyatt, or fawn when she was available to, had to make sure she stayed awak while eating.
That is when fawn & Wyatt first suggested to themselves she might be deteriorating faster then the original doctors statement that doctor OWENS gave gave us.
Wyatt and Payton’s  shy, sassy, and boy crazy  mothers  fthat used to be the girls running around the playgrounds poking boys in the back of the head, or

Ever since the covid 19 pandemic hit it has been surprisingly hard to get her the adequate medical attention she needed, which has added much in needed stress. During her time at northwest hospital they have finally diagnosed her with ALS, commonly known as lou gherigs disease.

ALS is a progressive neurological disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spine that leads to the loss of muscle control. There is no cure for ALS and it is most often fatal within 2-5 years. But Tiffant is determined to do everything possible to find a way to live and see her kids grow up. As of now the doctors have regretted to inform the family of her short time left on our ever revolving plant. As of today, with the information we have, she has a few days to two weeks left to live. So with that, we are fundraising to give her the send off she needs. 75% will go towards funeral/viewing expenses, a gorgeous urn for the share of mine & my brother paytons ashes, blown up large photos of my mother, picture frames, and also sets of the flowers she prefers best.

and the other 25% was originally gonna go to the bills that had built up for Wyatt as he was unable to work for almost a year and a half due to Tiffany’s medical needs being 24/7 attention that was ever getting more extensive. Once resources with social workers and in home care we’re getting setup, she was admitted into university of Washington northwest medical center. But the other  25% was originally going to be for bills, but will be put in whole towards helping  compensate for her cremation, embalming, transportation to a new funeral home for viewing where she wanted to be, and all her elegant flowers with the resplendent picture frames that will show off every aspect of her physical character. When it comes to how amazing she was, her appearance was the least of the person she was. Tiffany was a caring mother that would always put her children first. Many times in elementary when me and my brother would have a bad grade, or not put something back in the same place it goes, she would make sure the TEACHER got disciplined before us. She wanted the best for us. As she said a “student is only as good as the teacher”…

Thank you in advance to everyone, and especially all who are taking the time to hear her story and help ease the financial burden that comes with end of life situations.
